Sus artículos, ahora también en Inglés e indexados en PubMedHaz que tus artículos sean traducidos al inglés e indexados en PubMed. Una ventaja extra para los autores que publiquen en Archivos de Medicina a partír del año 2008 será que sus artículos podrán ser traducidos al inglés y publicados en International Archives of Medicine que es una revista open access dedicada a todas las áreas de la medicina editada por BioMedCentral. Así, sus artículos serán accesibles para un colectivo de lectores mucho más grande, incluyendo lengua inglesa, y podrán ser indexados en PubMed

Si su artículo ha sido publicado en Archivos de Medicina tiene la posibilidad de publicar directamente (sin necesidad de nueva revisión de los contenidos) una traducción del mismo en International Archives of Medicine, revista indexada en PubMed.

Para ello tiene que seguir los pasos siguientes.

0. Aceptación de las condiciones de publicación de la editorial BioMedCentral. Ésto incluye el pago de unas tasas con la excepción de los autores que pertenezcan a instituciones socias de BMC.

1. Adaptación del manuscrito a las normas de International Archives of Medicine.
2. Traducción del artículo al inglés. Puede realizarse por los propios autores; se ofrece asistencia por parte de Archivos de Medicina.
3. Envío a International Archives of Medicine por sistema on-line, indicando en la cover letter, que se trata de una versión traducidad de una artículo de Archivos de Medicina. Este paso incluye el pago de tasas que cobra la editorial BioMedCentral por publicar en sus revistas de acceso abierto.
   Si Ud. es de un país para los que BMC ofrece descuentos del 100% (http://www.biomedcentral.com/info/authors/apcfaq#discount) podría publicar gratuítamente la traducción en la revista.
   Si Ud. pertenece a una institución miembro de BMC existe un acuerdo para que le institución abone directamente el 100% de los gastos de la publicación.

4. Revisión del writing de la versión traducida por parte de los revisores de International Archives of Medicine.
5. Publicación en International Archives of Medicine.

Practices regarding the transfer of articles between Archivos de Medicina and International Archives of Medicine.

Introduction points
• Archivos de Medicina in an existing journal (in Spanish) that belongs to InternetMedicalPublishing. International Archives of Medicine is a coming journal (in English) that belongs to BioMedCentral. They cover the same scope.
• Archivos de Medicina and International Archives of Medicine are independent and open access journals under the CC licence.
• Archivos de Medicina and International Archives of Medicine decide to enter into cooperation by reciprocally publishing translations. Many of the English language papers published in International Archives of Medicine will be translated and republished in Archivos de Medicina for a Spanish speaking audience, and viceversa. In this way, International Archives of Medicine will offer benefits for authors who wish the results of their research to be made available to the widest possible global audience, including both English and Spanish speakers.

About the process
• The editorial process will be done in the original language and on the basis of the original journal up to the point of acceptance.
• Once accepted it will be offered to enter the translation and production process of the parallel journal. This option will be announced from the beginning but this step would be offered once the manuscript is accepted.
• Authors will decide whether publishing the translation or not. Accepting means agree with the rules and policies of both journals.
• Authors will transfer the translated articles themselves.
• The manuscript’s content will automatically be accepted to be published in the second journal.
• The translated manuscript will be transferred to the second journal and there edited and reviewed using the usual tools of this journal. The writing will be reviewed again and a linguistic check will always be made.

Additional points
• A translated article will never be published before its original version.
• Translations would be declared as such, and both versions would link to each other.
• Translated articles published in International Archives of Medicine will be indexed in PMC and other archives.
